The San Francesco is the most powerful cru of the Antoniolo estate. With a wild and spirited character, it has great ageing potential and is happy at the table alongside spicy dishes. It will take a few years for it to express itself in all its glory. A wine that is both virile and elegant.
17/20 Guida Espresso
The San Francesco vines extend over 2.5 hectares, with a moraine base and a south-west exposure. After the harvest, maceration on the skin lasts 2 weeks, in steel vats. The wines are then aged for 12 months in small barrels, then 18 months in medium barrels. Finally, the wine is kept for another 12 months in bottles before being put on sale, up to about 4000 bottles per year.
